Mourning The Dancefloor

Ethnography

Mourning the Dancefloor is a documentary short film (podcast-visualizer?) that uses interviews and voicenotes to unpack and reckon with the loss of partying during Covid-19 lockdowns. It is an exploration of frivolity, a pandemic archive, and a conversation about how we love to dance.

I used footage from my 21st birthday party (Pre-pandemic) along with clips sent to me by my friends as a visual companion to what was initially meant to be an audio-only podcast. It's one of my favourite pieces of work and I'm rather proud of it.
